The Green Yellow Taxi App (GYTA) is an approved and licensed service by the Taxi & Limousine Commission. Its primary function is to facilitate efficient e-hailing of both NYC Yellow and Green taxicabs across key boroughs, including Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Staten Island.

Designed for quick connections between passengers and nearby taxicab drivers, the GYTA app streamlines the process considerably. Drivers can easily register with their name, email address, TLC license number, and cab number without incurring commission fees. This structure allows drivers to retain all of their earnings.

For passengers, signing up is straightforward, requiring only a name and email address. The absence of hidden fees or surge pricing ensures that the fare remains consistent, with transactions processed directly through the taximeter. Payments can be made in cash or via debit/credit cards directly to the driver, alleviating any concerns regarding the handling of sensitive payment information.

Users can simply launch the GYTA app, input their pick-up and drop-off locations, and quickly connect with an available cab driver. Furthermore, passengers have the flexibility to choose from various vehicle types, including Sedan, SUV, or Van/Wheelchair Accessible options, catering to their specific needs.

The app also features an Airport button that provides direct access to nearby cab drivers when traveling to major airports such as LaGuardia (LGA), John F. Kennedy (JFK), or Newark (EWR), reducing wait times for those needing swift transportation.

In addition, passengers can e-hail rides for friends and family members seamlessly. The app allows both drivers and passengers to cancel rides at any time without incurring additional fees; cancellations will automatically reroute to another driver or passenger in proximity.

To enhance service efficiency further, the GYTA app notifies drivers when demand is high in specific areas, prompting them to move toward those locations for better service availability.

Ultimately, the GYTA app aims to optimize the connection process between taxi drivers and passengers in New York City for improved speed and service quality.
